Hoosier Daddy, Donnie?
Another Cup of WTF!
This cartoon will be published in my local paper The Hamilton County Reporter on Monday and typically I would wait until then to share it here, but this one is too important so I’m bending the rules a little.
This past Thursday my home state of Indiana, on its 209th birthday no less, rejected (bitchslapped) Trump’s plan to redraw our congressional maps in the attempt to have all 9 Indiana districts vote RED in the 2026 midterms. Perhaps the most delightfully satisfying part of Donnies defeat is that it came from Republicans. Despite the threats and intimidation tactics coming from the President a total of 21 out of 40 Indiana Senate Republicans voted against his desire to redistrict the state. I also take great delight in knowing that Trump toady Indiana Governor Mike Braun(nose) is also feeling this defeat.
I’ve done several cartoons on this over the last few months, but the vote on Thursday was the final say on this issue. This is easily the President’s biggest political defeat since starting his second term and I couldn’t be more proud that it came from my fellow Hoosiers. I can only hope that other states and politicians of both parties will follow the example set this past week.
Happy 209th Birthday, Indiana! Ya done good!
Sketches and sketchy stuff…

The idea for this cartoon came rather quickly. I wanted to show Trump upset with the news of his defeat in Indiana and the phrase “Hoosier Daddy” seemed like the appropriate salt to throw in his wounded political ego.
The only significant challenge I had was finding the correct way to have Trump holding the newspaper so that it was readable and visually correct. The first few sketches didn’t give me the viewing space that I wanted for the headline. The paper was too close to his body and his tight arm was in the way. The easiest solution was to simply make him hold the paper with his left hand only. This opened the paper into full view and eliminated his right hand from blocking any of it. I also pushed the little “Hoosier Daddy” post to the left so it was a little more visually emphasized.
Final drawing before color and type…
